The Houston Texans are still waiting to see if star quarterback Deshaun Watson will be on the roster when the 2021 season kicks off.

Watson has not participated in offseason activities with the club over the past two weeks. He still reportedly wants to be traded, but there hasn’t been much movement on that front over the past two months.

Until today. On Wednesday afternoon, former Houston Texans defensive back Kareem Jackson said he spoke with Watson about where he wants to play next.

According to Jackson, Watson said he wants to play for the Denver Broncos.

“I have a great relationship with Deshaun,” Jackson said. “I’ve been talking to him the past couple of weeks man and like all he’s been telling me is like, ‘look, Jack just tell them that’s where I want to be.'”

Earlier today, Texans quarterbacks coach Tim Kelly was asked to address the absence of his star quarterback from team activities. Kelly replied with a simple, two-word “No sir” and then didn’t take any further questions on the matter.

Houston seems to be moving forward with the quarterbacks the team has on the roster – who will attend practice – right now. Tyrod Taylor is the frontrunner to land the starting job with Davis Mills backing him up.

Of course, that’s only if Watson stays away.
