The Green Bay Packers were handed a 35-point loss to kick off the 2021 season, as Matt LaFleur’s squad struggled mightily against the New Orleans Saints.

During this Wednesday’s edition of NFL Now on NFL Network, Packers wide receiver Davante Adams was asked about the team’s disappointing performance in Week 1.

Adams basically said what everyone else was thinking. The star wideout called this past Sunday’s matchup a “weird game” for the Packers.

“It just got weird, man. It was a weird game,” Adams said, via NFL.com. “We had like 12 plays in the first half. Our defense wasn’t getting off the field and that just wasn’t our best display. We came out really flat and I think that it’ll be a really good wake-up call for us.”

Since the Packers were “flat” on offense, Adams didn’t really make a big impact against the Saints. He finished the season opener with five catches for 56 receiving yards.

Time will tell if this loss was a wake-up call for the Packers. On Monday night, they’ll take on the Detroit Lions in their first NFC North showdown of the season.

If the Packers are unable to defeat the Lions at home, all the outside noise surrounding the franchise will only get louder.
