Craving a taste of summer? These food trucks will be at The Portal Container Village this summer

The Portal Container Village, one of Bellingham’s most popular summer spots, has announced its lineup of food trucks for its upcoming season.

The Portal Container Village is a unique summer venue that uses recycled shipping containers to house businesses like Kulshan Brewing Company, The Selkie Scoop ice cream, Our Kitchen and Rain or Shine Riviera Club.

The Portal also features a mini golf course, new shipping container restaurants coming this summer, Kulshan Brewing’s outdoor beer garden and rotating food trucks.

The Portal is set to open for the summer Friday, May 3, according to an email from Port of Bellingham Public Affairs Administrator Michael Hogan.

As for its food truck lineup, The Portal currently has fewer food trucks that have signed agreements for the season compared to last year but is welcoming a brand-new food truck.

For this upcoming season, The Portal is planning to host:

New Public Creative Vegan Food Truck

Galley2Go Fish and Chips

Incredi-Bowls

Curries N Things

Ah Chihuahua Taco Truck

In 2023, The Portal hosted Galley2Go-Fish and Chips, Incredi-Bowls, OVN Wood Fired Pizza, Lumpia Luv, The Mobile Mouth Hole, New Public Food Truck, Good Board and Ah Chihuahua Taco Truck, which was parked inside Kulshan Trackside.

More food trucks could still sign contracts and join the 2024 summer season.

The new food truck, Curries N Things, is also known as Nana J’s, a restaurant that started in downtown Bellingham and has now transitioned into a food truck business.

The Portal will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday from May 3 through Memorial Day, May 27. Then The Portal will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Sunday through September.

The Portal Container Village is at 296 W Laurel St. in Bellingham.
