Cow ties up traffic in Atlanta suburb after escaping from trailer

That heifer was really mooo-ving.

A cow that escaped from its trailer on a highway outside Atlanta stopped traffic for over an hour until it was corralled.

According to the Dunwoody Police Department, the incident occurred around 9 a.m. Saturday morning on 1-285 when the cow fell out of its trailer and started running down the road.

After officers, with an assist from a motorist with some rope, were able to capture the cow safely, they were able to reunite it with its owner in short order.

“Chasing people is a norm for officers. However, chasing cows on the interstate... not so much,” the department wrote on Facebook.

It wasn’t clear how the cow escaped its trailer but after about an hour all the lanes of the highway had re-opened and the traffic congestion had dissipated.
