There’s new construction in Carolina Forest, SC. What’s opening there?

Carolina Forest is adding new development to its already growing area. Construction is underway on a new strip mall close to Jimmy John’s and O.A.K. Prime Kitchen and Bar.

The new strip mall, Westlake Commons IV, will have five retail spaces, according to a billboard posted in front of the construction. Indeed, Westlake Commons IV looks similar to Westlake Commons II, which contains Jimmy John’s and O.A.K. Prime Kitchen and Bar. According to Horry County Land Records, Westlake Commons IV’s address is 235 Village Center Blvd.

The property is owned by Westlake Land Holding Company Inc., whose S.C. registered agent is Roger E. Grigg, according to S.C.’s business filings website. Grigg is the managing partner and president of Leonard, Grigg & Associates, a real estate investment and development firm specializing in golf and resort entities throughout the Carolinas, according to the company’s website.

Grigg did not return a request for comment, nor did Westlake Commons IV’s leasing contact Dargan Grigg before publication. The Westlake Commons IV’s property is about five acres large and has a market value of $2.42 million, according to Horry County Land Records.
