College Football World Reacts To Nebraska’s Awful Start

The Nebraska Cornhuskers nearly picked up their first signature win of the Scott Frost era last Saturday. Unfortunately, it appears their impressive performance from last weekend didn’t carry over to this Saturday’s matchup against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Nebraska’s offense has been abysmal thus far against Minnesota this afternoon. Adrian Martinez has completed just one pass attempt for 22 yards through the first quarter of play.

Not only have the Cornhuskers struggled on offense, they’ve provided little resistance on defense against the Golden Gophers. Senior quarterback Tanner Morgan already has 95 passing yards and a touchdown.

Minnesota’s rushing attack has also been impressive thus far, as Mar’Keise Irving is averaging a whopping seven yards per carry.

This afternoon’s performance from Nebraska has been so poor that Sean Callahan of HuskerOnline.com believes it’s the worst Frost’s squad has looked this season.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a college football Saturday without fans either firing off Scott Frost memes or questioning his future with the program.

The bad news for Nebraska is that history isn’t on its side.

According to Brett McMurphy, the Cornhuskers have lost 11 of their last 12 games when their opponents score first.

There’s still plenty of time for the Cornhuskers to turn things around against the Golden Gophers. Right now, though, it’s hard to watch Frost’s offense.
