Which closed Sacramento restaurant do you miss the most? Tell us your favorite and why

Several popular restaurants in the Sacramento area have recently announced they are closing doors — adding to the long list of spots closed since the beginning of the COVID pandemic in 2020.

Iconic burger restaurant The Shack in East Sacramento announced on Facebook Thursday it was closing at the end of July.

“So many good times. Family birthdays, graduation celebrations,” one Facebook user commented. “You have been a huge part of our family’s story.”

Other customers expressed how much the restaurant meant to their families and thanked the owners for maintaining it for the last 17 years. The post has received more than 300 comments over the last six days.

There have been numerous restaurant closings in the Sacramento area over the last few months, from Yang’s Noodles in south Sacramento to Roxy Restaurant and Bar in Arden Arcade.

And towards the end of June, pasta and Italian comfort food spot Club Pheasant announced it plans to shut down at the end of this year. It first opened doors to the West Sacramento community in 1935.
