Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are a great American love story, rapper says

Rapper/actor Lil Dicky was a guest on the newest episode of the “New Heights” podcast, which came out Wednesday, and much of the conversation was about music.

That’s to be expected, right?

At one point, the discussion hit on Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s relationship with superstar singer Taylor Swift. Lil Dicky, who is also an actor and stars in the comedy “Dave,” loves the romance.

It began when former Eagles center Jason Kelce said: “We’ve got a lot of new fans. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of them, they’re called Swifties.”

“Yeah. I’ve heard all about them,” Lil Dicky said. “How are you guys doing with all of this?”

Jason noted: “It’s not changed that much for me.”

But Travis opened up about things.

“I’m having a blast in life, baby,” he said. “Just flying high, enjoying it all. Bringing new lives to the football world, opening the football world to new things.”

Lil Dicky said he loved that.

“Honestly, my take on it, and if you want to spend time talking about it for the 5,000th time, but like I just think there’s something that makes everyone feel like it’s like the world is kind of like high school where like your most popular pop star, like beloved musician, somehow met like your most popular beloved like athlete. And they actually fell in love,” the rapper said.

“And like it’s just real. Anyone who like hates on it is like a bitter loser. But I think a lot of people who would maybe expect to hate on it actually love it and they acknowledged they love it, because there’s something so American about it or something. There’s something like just classic about it.”

It does seem as if the dads, Brads and Chads of the world are not quite as vocal as they were when Kelce and Swift began dating.

Kelce thanked Lil Dicky.

“I don’t know how I did it, because she wasn’t into sports,” Kelce said. “So I don’t know how I did it.”

Lil Dicky said he knows.

“Well,” he said, “you did it because you called her out on your podcast.”

Kelce responded: “Yeah, I know exactly how I did it.”

That drew a laugh from everyone.
