Caldor Fire Continues to Burn in Grizzly Flats Area

Northern California’s 197-square-mile Caldor Fire continued to burn through the Grizzly Flats area on August 24, after the blaze ripped through the town on August 17.

Official reports said the fire grew to almost 126,200 acres by August 25, with 11 percent containment.

Local reports said that the Caldor Fire was moving closer to South Lake Tahoe on August 25, while officials warned that the fire was creating hazardous air quality.

The first clip shows burning trees and shrubbery at the side of the road near Grizzly Flats, where, on August 17, the Caldor Fire leveled many homes and businesses. A mandatory evacuation order remained in place for the area on August 25. The clips also show fire crews tackling the blaze.
