Cal Fire saves cat from Los Osos chimney — thanks to a can of High Street Deli tuna
Cal Fire firefighters rescued a cat from the chimney of a Los Osos home Friday morning, the agency said on Twitter.
Using a can of tuna donated by High Street Deli, Cal Fire firefighters lured Zippy the cat down from the chimney, Cal Fire said.
Zippy was safe back in his owners’ arms Friday afternoon, Cal Fire said.
The month has already had several other notable animal rescues, mainly due to the flooding that hit the region earlier in the month.
Cal Fire officers pulled an Arroyo Grande horse from a muddy riverbed on Wednesday afternoon, after the horse sunk a foot deep in the mud. Further to the south, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department rescued two dogs from a storm-swollen creek in Goleta on Jan. 5.
