A groundbreaking ceremony was held at 2547 Innovation Drive for Boise Cascade's new distribution center that's expected to be completed by next spring.

Boise Cascade has broken ground on its new distribution center. The center will be built on a 20-acre site at 2547 Innovation Drive in Marion and will include a 100,000 square foot warehouse with 13 acres of lumber storage. The location is also rail-served.

"Moving to this new distribution facility will enable us to expand our product offering and deepen our breadth of inventory for our current customers," said Jeff Strom, executive vice president, BMD division. "It will also allow us the opportunity to enhance our service capacity and expand our footprint in a multi-state area."

"Boise Cascade has enjoyed a 20-year presence in Marion and the City of Marion, Marion County, and Claridon Township has been very good to us so we are excited to build our new facility only one mile away and stay in Marion" said Mark Nelson, branch manager. "The Marion operation will employ 34 associates to provide quality building materials to retail and professional builder lumber yards throughout Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, & West Virginia."

To mark the occasion, the Marion Area Chamber Ambassadors and special guests held a groundbreaking ceremony at the construction site.

The distribution center is scheduled to open in the spring of 2023.
