BOYS' SOCCER: Mundy, Antonini head SL coaches' all-stars

Oct. 30—Blue Mountain teammates Ryan Mundy and Robert Antonini were selected as Schuylkill League Boys' Soccer Co-MVPs in voting done by the league's coaches.

The two All-State nominations helped Blue Mountain capture the Division I title and its 20th overall Schuylkill League title with a 4-0 victory over Pine Grove in the title game. The Eagles (18-3) are the league's only remaining boys' soccer team and will face Notre Dame-Green Pond in the District 11 Class AA semifinals at 7 p.m. today at Lehighton.

Mundy had three goals and four assists in the Eagles' Schuylkill League semifinal win over Jim Thorpe, then tallied two goals in the title game. The Lehigh recruit has 15 goals and eight assists after missing half of the season recovering from a severe illness. He surpassed Jonathan Benner as Blue Mountain's all-time leading goal scorer.

Antonini is the Eagles' main defender and catalyst of a defense that has notched 13 shutouts and surrendered only 14 goals so far this season. A center defensive mid, Antonini has 10 goals and eight assists this season.

The league selected Schuylkill Haven's Andre Georgevic (Class A), Lourdes' Earl Reed (Class AA) and North Schuylkill's Jarrid Todd (Class 3A) as its Coaches of the Year.

Reed guided Lourdes (12-7-1) to the program's first-ever Division II title and first league playoff berth since 2004, while Georgevic directed Schuylkill Haven (9-8-3) to the league playoffs for the third straight year. Todd coached the Spartans to an 11-8 overall mark and a berth in the District 11 playoffs for the first time since 2010. All three squads were eliminated in the first round of districts.

Mundy and Antonini headline this year's Schuylkill League Boys' Soccer Coaches division all-star teams that were released last week. Here's a look at this year's coaches' all-star teams:
