The body of a Kansas City man who was reported missing on the Missouri River last month was found in the water Tuesday in the St. Louis area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

The dead man was identified as Alexander L. Stark, 29. Officials said Stark, who had been reported missing on the Missouri River on Feb. 18, drowned. The body was discovered Tuesday and identified as Stark on Thursday.

Citing a news release from police in Washington, Missouri, the St. Louis TV station KMOV reported a family member of Stark’s had called authorities on the day he went missing to report the man was having mental health issues and had entered the water. During a search, police found property that belonged to Stark near a bridge along the river.
