Bicyclist rushed to hospital after collision with car in Fresno’s Tower District

A bicyclist was rushed to the hospital Sunday afternoon after he was struck by a car in Fresno’s Tower District in what witnesses said was a high-impact collision.

The crash took place about 2:30 p.m. at North Palm and East Olive avenues. Witness David Guernica said the bicyclist was riding west on Olive when he was struck by a white car going north on Palm.

Guernica and several other witnesses said the rider was thrown over the car in the collision. At the scene, police were not available to say who had the right of way.

Police officers, firefighters and ambulance workers treated the rider at the scene before he was taken away by the ambulance. His condition was not available.
