AP Top 25 preseason football poll is out. See where Boise State landed in the voting
The Boise State football team received votes in The Associated Press Top 25 poll for the 23rd year in a row with the release of the AP’s preseason poll on Monday.
The Broncos earned 47 points and missed cracking the Top 25 by three spots. They were the highest-ranked Group of Five team in the poll’s voting, beating out Liberty (32 points), Memphis (16), UTSA (6), Tulane (5) and Appalachian State (4).
It’s the highest Boise State has been ranked to open a season since 2018, when the Broncos were No. 22 in the preseason poll.

Rankings will matter more than ever this season. The expanded College Football Playoff will offer guaranteed spots to the five highest-ranked conference champions by the selection committee. The next seven highest-ranked teams will earn at-large bids.
Boise State finished last season 8-6 and knocked off UNLV in the Mountain West championship game to win its first conference title since 2019. The Broncos open this season at Georgia Southern on Aug. 31.
