Another intercepted conversation with Russian soldier reveals complaints about incompetent commander

In the intercept, which the ministry posted on the Telegram messenger on Sept. 8, a Russian tank soldier can be heard telling his wife about how his comrades-in-arms were injured as a result of a Ukrainian drone dropping a grenade.

According to the Russian soldier, his comrades were left without their commander, as the latter was hiding in some basement. One of the Russian soldiers was a mechanic, while another one acted as tank commander and gunner.

The invader also complained about the tank, which was no longer able to fire because a shell got stuck in its gun barrel. He is worried that the shell may explode and the Ukrainian military might hear this, since the invaders are now located in a zone within range of Ukrainian artillery.

The Russian serviceman also admitted that he would probably be sent to the front line, but neither he nor his colleagues wanted to go there.

“Well, in short, everyone wants to get rid of the commander, the whole battalion,” he said.

“All the crews (want to) get rid of him, all the companies, because he’s stupid, he’s an artilleryman, he’s not a tankman, and he doesn’t care about the men.”

According to the Russian soldier, the commander does not care about the wounded and dead. In particular, he did not even report the losses to headquarters.

Meanwhile, on the background of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, the “administration” of the Russian-occupied town of Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast has announced an “evacuation.”

As reported by Kremlin propaganda outlets on Sept. 8, so far this concerns only the local population that remained in the town after it was occupied by Russian troops.

“As of today, the situation in the town of Kupiansk forced us to prepare for an evacuation,” local ‘gauleiter’ Vitaliy Ganchev said in a video message.

The counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army on the southern part of the front continues.

The Ukrainian army has kept the strategic Antonivskyi bridge and other crossings across the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast under sustained fire, thereby preventing Russian troops from restoring critical supply routes.

As Ukrainian troops block the deployment of Russian units, the capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces in the region have been severely diminished.

In addition to Kherson Oblast, an active counter-offensive also kicked off in Kharkiv Oblast on Sept. 6.

And while the Ukrainian military’s General Staff has refrained from commenting on updates regarding the liberation of Kherson, earlier reports emerged about the liberation of a number of settlements, including Vysokopillia. Its strategic position next to road and rail links makes it a key objective for Ukraine’s liberation operation.

In addition, the Russian invaders’ group in Balakliya found itself encircled, which, in the case of the capture of Kupiansk, opens the way to Russian-occupied Izyum, which will be cut off from the main Russian forces.

Additionally, Ukrainian partisans continue to eliminate pro-Kremlin collaborators who have voluntarily agreed to work for the invading Russian forces in Kherson Oblast.

Due to Ukraine’s ongoing success in liberating the region, the occupying authorities decided against holding a sham referendum on “joining” the Ukrainian territories under occupation to Russia.
