A bizarre instance of pickled pork being used as a weapon landed a woman in jail after she went on a grocery-tossing rampage in a Florida home, investigators say.

Products were still flying when a Lee County sheriff’s deputy drove up and witnessed the victim taking a 2-liter bottle of Sprite to the head, video shows.

It happened around 10:15 p.m. on Friday, March 1, in Lehigh Acres, and involved “an outraged” woman who broke into her ex-boyfriend’s home, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office reported. Lehigh Acres is about a 140-mile drive southeast from Tampa.

“When deputies arrived on scene, the victim was waiting in the road with the suspect ... hot on his tail,” the sheriff’s office said in a video.

“Deputies learned (the suspect) had used a hidden spare key to break into the home. She proceeded to throw and break items around the house, and at one point (she) takes a bottle of pickled pork and dumps it all over the victim’s couch.”

Cell phone video recorded by the victim shows the suspect removed the lid from the jar of pickled pork sausages and tossed it like a softball. The contents missed the victim and landed on a sectional couch, the video shows.

The woman was arrested and charged with battery, burglary and criminal mischief, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators did not report the man suffered injuries.
