Andy Cohen calls out ‘The Talk’ for leaning on one host: ‘CBS should quadruple your salary’

Jerry O’Connell was on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Monday, and The Talk co-host was caught off guard when Cohen claimed he carried the daytime show.

“I have to say, I have been noticing all day, Jerry, because I saw you this morning too, you have been hunched over all day,” Cohen said. “And I know it's because you are carrying The Talk on your back. Honestly. I'm sorry but CBS should quadruple your salary. There is one person carrying the show and I'm sorry but he is sitting right here because without Jerry there ain't no show. There ain't no show without Jerry.”

“We love everyone at The Talk,” said O’Connell while Cohen was ranting. “I am currently employed there…Andy’s words, not mine. I love everyone.”

O’Connell was a popular guest and guest-host on the show for years before CBS made him an permanent co-host in 2021. And some viewers agreed with Cohen’s take that O’Connell has been carrying the show recently. While O’Connell refuted Cohen’s assertions, it was the late night host who got in the last word.

“Guess what, there’s no show without Jerry,” he said, before moving on to another topic.
