Abducted 2-year-old boy from San Marcos found safe; suspect arrested

SAN MARCOS, Texas - Authorities say a 2-year-old who was allegedly abducted from a park has been found safe and a suspect has been arrested.

San Marcos police had issued an AMBER Alert for 2-year-old Legend Torres on April 27.

Police say Legend was taken from Children's Park in the 200 block of South CM Allen Parkway in San Marcos around 1:30 p.m.

The suspect was identified as 46-year-old Joey Michael Torres, and he was considered armed and potentially dangerous.

Joey Michael was arrested in the early morning hours of April 28 in Dallas County. Police located Joey Michael's 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander at an apartment complex.

Authorities say Legend has been reunited with his family.
