Albert Pujols reportedly joining Pete Alonso, Ronald Acuna Jr. in Home Run Derby

Albert Pujols is getting the full treatment for his farewell tour.

Days after MLB commissioner Rob Manfred named him an honorary All-Star alongside Miguel Cabrera, The Athletic's Katie Woo reports that the retiring St. Louis Cardinals slugger will participate in the Home Run Derby at Dodgers Stadium. He'll join New York Mets All-Star and two-time Derby champ Pete Alonso and Atlanta Braves All-Star Ronald Acuna Jr., both of whom confirmed their Derby participation earlier on Monday. The remainder of the field has yet to be announced.

Pujols is one of the most prolific power hitters in MLB history with 684 home runs and a career OPS of .916. He's not, however, one of the game's best active power hitters at 42 years old. In 152 plate appearances over 48 games this season, Pujols has tallied five home runs. Regardless, he should churn up plenty of excitement around one of the marquee events of MLB's All-Star festitives.

While Pujols will join the Derby as a fan favorite, Alonso — who's won the last two — will likely be the actual favorite to win regardless of who else joins the field.
