Abilene Christian races past NAIA North Texas-Dallas in women's basketball play

Jamie Bonnarens scored a game-high 19 points, and three other Abilene Christian players scored in double figures as the Wildcats beat NAIA North Texas-Dallas 92-47 in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday at the Teague Center.

Sarah Griswold added 15 points, while Madi Miller and Emma Middleton followed with 14 and 12, respectively for ACU (7-1), which won its fourth consecutive game. Miller had six of ACU’s 23 assists.

Brooke Lopez led the Trailblazers (7-3) with 15 points.

The Wildcats outscored UNT-Dallas 30-0 off 19 turnovers and 40-10 in the paint.

It was an exhibition game for UNT-Dallas, a first-year program, while ACU counted it as a real game.

The Wildcats originally were scheduled to play Wright State but the Dayton, Ohio-based team has been dealing with COVID-19 protocols and canceled the game.

ACU plays Oral Roberts at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in a nonconference game at the Teague Center.
