After a two-year hiatus because of the coronavirus, Ohio's largest Civil War reenactment is returning to Hale Farm and Village in Bath Township.

The event at the historic site will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

There will be a variety of displays including Civil War encampments along with reenactors who will recreate a battle in the fields.

This year the reenactors will recreate the Battle of Brawner’s Farm − the start of the Second Battle of Manassas on Aug. 28, 1862 − when the Union forces thought they had cornered General Stonewall Jackson's troops unaware that thousands of Confederate infantry under General Robert E. Lee were nearby.

Actors portraying historic figures, like Dred Scott, Sara Lucy Bagby and Mary Todd Lincoln will stroll the grounds along with musical performances by the Camp Chase Fife and Drum Corps.

Admission is $15 for adults and $8 for kids.
