An Olympic gymnast was body-shamed after her performance
Even Olympians are not immune to the internet's vicious body shaming. Mexican gymnast Alexa Moreno competed for her country, but unfortunately failed to make the finals and finished in 31st place.
Although Moreno weighs less than 100 pounds, commenters on social media started saying she was not thin enough to compete:
Translation: "Alexa Moreno, another example of pseudo athletes sent by the CONADE [Mexico's National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport] just to fullfill the quota."
Many deleted their rude remarks, but Buzzfeed screenshotted some:

Translation: "Exclusive images of Alexa Moreno at the end of her gymnastic routine."
Source: Buzzfeed:
Translation: "'My dream is to win one of those hot dog eating contests.' –Alexa Moreno."
Thankfully, many rallied behind 22-year-old Moreno and drowned out the negativity:
I'd love to see anyone body-shaming Alexa Moreno do that badass floor routine she pulled off. She's a tremendous athlete and cute as can be.

Notice how none of Moreno's haters were Olympians themselves -- and probably do not recognize the hard work and dedication it takes to make the games. It seems that after her performance, though, she definitely has more fans than naysayers.
