Hostess Snacks swings and misses on Opening Day promo
Sports fans around the country are fired up about the long-awaited arrival of MLB's Opening Day and you can count Hostess Snacks among the brands looking to get in on a little baseball-themed exposure.
Only problem was that the royals of confectionery creation got crossed up in their sports jargon, racking up a brutal strikeout on Twitter by proudly promoting their baseball-shaped cupcakes with a succinct "touchdown."

While the frosting-filled treats may indeed prove a slam dunk with sweet-toothed MLB fans, it could behoove the baking giants to keep the Ding Dongs on supermarket shelves, not the marketing department.
