20-year-old victim, 19-year-old suspect identified in Lawrenceville apartment shooting
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Gwinnett County police investigated a robbery-turned-deadly shooting at a Lawrenceville apartment complex late Saturday night.
Officials told FOX 5 that 20-year-old Timothy Henderson was killed at the Herrington Mill Apartments where he lived.
Resident Anna Dividu told FOX 5 when she heard a popping sound outside her apartment at around 10 p.m. she mistook it for the sound of children playing. When she took her dog out for a walk about an hour later, that's when she saw Henderson's body lying in the hallway.
"I've been here almost 13 years," Dividu said. "I never see such a things like that in my life."
The suspected shooter was identified as 19-year-old Raheem Whiteside.
There are warrants out for his arrest for malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies.
Police are still trying to locate him.
Meanwhile, Dividu said the experience was so traumatizing that her daughter is already helping her look for a new place to live.
"I don't want to stay here anymore," she told FOX 5 Atlanta. "I couldn't sleep last night, you know, because I have the body from the guy in my mind. The impression."
