2 teens killed after car crashes into a tree in Placer County

Two teenagers were killed when the car they were traveling in crashed into a tree then caught fire near Newcastle in Placer County Thursday night, authorities said. Placer County Coroner’s Office records said one of the teens who was killed was an 18-year-old from Lincoln and the other a 16-year-old from Loomis. Their names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
