2 people busted with guns outside White House but Joe Biden never in danger: Secret Service
Trouble was brewing inside the Capitol — and outside the White House.
Two people were arrested Saturday on firearm charges at approximately the same time that Donald Trump’s second impeachment case was wrapping up, reported Washington TV station WRC on Sunday.
The suspects were a 66-year-old woman named Sylvia Hall and an unidentified man, according to the Secret Service and Metropolitan Police Department.
One of the pair — that approached Secret Service officers at a vehicle checkpoint at the White House complex — claimed to possess a letter addressed to President Biden.
The suspects were arrested once they acknowledged being armed, according to reports.
“During the course of the encounter and subsequent arrests, the individuals posed no immediate danger to any Secret Service protectee,” noted the Secret Service.
The agency added that one of the suspects admitted possessing a weapon, while the second confirmed the location of another weapon in a nearby vehicle.
The Secret Service said its officers took possession of the weapon after locating that vehicle.
Hall was arrested for possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of unregistered ammunition and carrying a pistol without a license.

The man was arrested for possession of a BB gun.
The arrests occurred at approximately the same time the U.S. Senate was voting to acquit Donald Trump in his second impeachment case.
Late Saturday afternoon, 57 senators voted Trump guilty of inciting a mob to attack upon the Capitol on Jan. 6 — 10 shy of the the two-thirds needed to impeach.
