2 killed in Pompano Beach murder-suicide, BSO says. South Florida sees third in past week
A man and woman shot to death Thursday afternoon in Broward was ruled an apparent murder-suicide, deputies say. This is the third murder-suicide in South Florida since Saturday.
Around 12:20 p.m., Broward deputies were alerted to a shooting and rushed to Pier Street and Seabreeze Way in Pompano Beach, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were identified as Yadviga McConville and Sergey Moiseenko, a 44-year-old Fort Lauderdale man.
McConville died at the scene; Moiseenko was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Detectives believe the shooting was a murder-suicide, according to a preliminary investigation. Moiseenko shot McConville and then turned the gun on himself.
It’s the latest murder-suicide that South Florida detectives investigated in the last week.
On Tuesday, Clifford Renard Murray III, 28, shot and killed Rosemary Gutierrez, 27, in a Hialeah apartment building before turning the gun on himself, police said. They were living together with their 3-year-old son, who was in the apartment at the time of the murder-suicide.

On Saturday, Miami-Dade police responded to the murder-suicide of a couple, 40-year-old Marcos Antonio Gonzalez and 39-year-old Raiza Cajuso, near Opa-locka. They had three children — ages 9, 13 and 15 — were inside the home when the shooting happened.
This is a developing story.
