Gun and personal safes got recalled. One of the problems let a child into a gun safe

More than 120,000 safes — including three gun safes designed for secure firearm storage — got recalled Thursday because their biometric locks might not limit access to the person with the right fingerprint.

“The biometric lock on the safes can fail and be opened by unauthorized users, posing a serious injury hazard and risk of death,” the hazard explanation on each U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice states.
