News of public record: Tuscarawas County restaurant inspections

The following are restaurant inspections with critical violations, as conducted by the Tuscarawas County Health Department from May 13 to 17.

May 13

Gameday Grill, 131 N. Wooster Ave., Strasburg. Observed raw meat stored above ready to eat food and produces. Cutting boards and potato slicer are unclean. Tartar sauce prepared in house not properly discarded when required. Observed food grade containers not for multiuse being used for food storage in the operation.

May 14

Los Venados Mexican Restaurant, 162 Main St., Zoar. Follow-up inspection. Observed accumulation of food debris and residue on the can opener blade. Observed improper cooling of TCS food. Beef that had been cooked and cooled the previous day had not been cooled to 41 degrees (F) or below within six hours. Observed the beef at approximately 50 degrees (F). Observed cleaners and sanitizers to be stored in unlabeled spray bottles.

May 15

Lighthouse Bistro, 9280 Atwood Lake Road NE, Mineral City. Observed poultry stored above fish and meat.

Atwood Snacks, 4956 NE Shop Road, Mineral City. Piercing parts of can opener are unclean. Quaternary ammonium sanitizing solution at incorrect temperature, concentration.

Newcomerstown Middle School, 325 W. State St., Newcomerstown. Hot water for mechanical sanitization is below required temperature.

May 17

The 1911 Group, Union Country Club Grille Room, 1000 N. Bellevue Dover. At the bar area, the quaternary ammonium compound (QAC) sanitizing solution had a chemical concentration approximately 100 ppm.

Dover Healthy Alternatives, 320 N. Wooster Ave., Dover. Shredded cheese and sliced cheese that were packaged and date marked in April had not been discarded.
