News of public record: Tuscarawas County restaurant inspections

The following are restaurant inspections with critical violations, as conducted by the Tuscarawas County Health Department from April 1 to 12.

April 1

Arby's #5343, 101 W. McCauley Drive, Uhrichsville. Quaternary ammonium sanitizing solution at approximately 70 F. Discussed with the person in charge (PIC) that the plumbing fixture has not been working properly and cold water continuously flows, making it difficult to control hot water.

Campesino's Grill, 1170 N. Wooster Ave., Strasburg. Follow-up inspection. There is an insufficient air gap between the flood rim and the water supply inlet.

April 3

Messdad's Concessions, 3416 NE New Zoarville Road, Zoarville. The grill surface is unclean.

April 4

El Hefe, 232 N. Tuscarawas Ave., Dover. Cooked chicken wings as well as cut produce were stored below raw animal food. Sliced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and fresh mozzarella cheese are to be cold-holding at approximately 46 F. Degreaser stored in an unlabeled container.

April 5

Wendy's, 1051 N. Tuscarawas Ave., Dover. Improper reheating of time and temperature controlled for safety food (TCS). The chili had been reheated to approximately 159 F after approximately three hours.

April 9

Tienda El Rey, 131 N. Tuscarawas Ave., Dover. Uncooked sausage had been stored above produce such as cucumber, and avocados had been stored directly on top of uncooked sausage. The queso fresco cheese in cooler is approximately 47 F. The ambient air temperature in the cooler is approximately 44 F.

Tienda Rivera LLC, 829 Union Ave., Dover. Raw shell eggs are stored directly above the produce. The frozen bananas that contain chocolate and crushed nuts were not labeled with the allergens.

Malcuits Tavern, 719 S. Wooster Ave., Strasburg. Follow-up inspection. There is an insufficient air gap between the flood rim and the water supply inlet of the three-compartment sink used as a food prep sink.

April 10

Cahal & Kaur Inc., 213 Main St., Gnadenhutten. No backflow prevention device on coffeemaker.

Through the Years Child Center, 496 N. Orchard St., Bolivar. The piercing parts of the can opener are unclean.

April 11

Bolivar Nutrition, 470 N. Orchard Road, Bolivar. TCS foods (whipped cream) are not being cold-held at the proper temperature in the Whirlpool refrigerator.
