News of public record: Guernsey County restaurant inspections

The following are restaurant inspections with critical violations, as conducted by the Guernsey County Health Department from May 6 to 10.

May 7

Pike Elementary School, 4533 Peters Creek Road, Cambridge. The facility did not have a verifiable employee health policy available. Wall-mounted detergent dispenser serving mechanical dishwashing machine is not supplying detergent. Per digital temperature gauges on the mechanical dishwashing machine, wash cycle water is reaching a maximum temperature of 135 F. Wash solution cycles for a stationary rack, dual temperature machine may not be less than 150 F.

May 8

Theo's Restaurant, 630-32 Wheeling Ave., Cambridge. The person in charge (PIC) is unable to demonstrate knowledge by having no critical violations. Food was uncovered in several refrigeration units and freezers throughout the facility. Dishes, knives and other equipment were observed in the drying rack at the upstairs sink without having sanitizer or a three-compartment sink. The sink is also being used for handwashing. The inside of the ice machine was dirty. White and chocolate milk registered 68 F. Time/temperature controlled for safety food is required to be held at 41 F or below;: cole slaw and salad registered at 47.7 F and 46.9 F, and spring mix and cheese registered at 48.5 F. Chemical spray bottles were not labeled.

May 9

Meadowbrook High School, 58615 Marietta Road, Byesville. The cut lettuce was not date-marked.

May 10

Pizza Hut #027283, 1175 Southgate Parkway, Cambridge. Employees are not routinely monitoring the concentration of sanitizing solution dispensed by mechanical ware washing machine. The washing machine is not dispensing chemical sanitizing solution. Tile floor cleaners and other chemical cleaners were stored above single-service pizza boxes in the dry storage shed.
