Newly revealed Lori Vallow emails include last known photo of son JJ

Thousands of emails and photos released by Chandler Police officials in the Idaho “Doomsday couple” killings reveal that Idaho mom Lori Vallow had booked a flight to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway the day after her brother allegedly attempted to shoot her husband’s ex-wife.

Tammy Daybell, the late wife of Vallow’s new husband, Chad Daybell, reported the Oct. 9, 2019, shooting to police. Ten days later, she was dead from what was initially ruled natural causes.

Vallow, 47, and her fifth and current husband, doomsday writer Daybell, have both been charged with murder in the deaths of her two children, Tylee Ryan, 17, and JJ Vallow, 7.

A day after Tammy Daybell’s death, Vallow had a flight booked back to Idaho, according to the emails obtained by Fox 10. She and Chad Daybell were married within weeks and 7-year-old JJ and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan had vanished.

The emails and images, which were recovered from Vallow’s iCloud account, also included the last known photo of JJ, dated Sept. 22, 2019. JJ stopped attending his Rexburg, Idaho, school the next day and on Sept. 24, Vallow told the babysitter that JJ was going to stay with his grandmother in Arizona. He was never seen again.

The remains of JJ and Tylee were found on Daybell’s Idaho property on June 9, 2020. Daybell and Vallow both face multiple counts of murder for the two children, while Daybell has been charged in his wife’s murder and Vallow has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder in the death of her late husband, Charles Vallow, who was fatally shot by Cox.
