The Newest 'Wonka' Trailer Has Us Thinking Timothée Chalamet Could Be The Best One Yet
Grab your chocolate bars! The Wonka trailer has finally arrived and it's just as whimsical and wondrous as we expected. Directed by Paul King and starring Timothée Chalamet, Wonka is a prequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
According to a description of the film, it's an "irresistibly vivid and inventive big screen spectacle" that will "introduce audiences to a young Willy Wonka, chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time—proving that the best things in life begin with a dream, and if you’re lucky enough to meet Willy Wonka, anything is possible."
The Wonka trailer is already trending across social media, with people eager to share their thoughts on the nearly three-minute-long teaser.
Many fans have been impressed by the film's casting, particularly Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa. They also have pretty high hopes for Chalamet. The French-American actor has big shoes to fill—the role of Willy Wonka has previously been played by the likes of Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp.
"I watched 90% of the Wonka trailer & thought 'Nope, not for me.' Then Hugh Grant’s Oompa-Loompa appeared. I need to see this film immediately," one person tweeted.
