‘Never Have I Ever’ Season 2 to Hit Netflix in July (TV News Roundup)

Never Have I Ever” will return to Netflix with its second season on July 15.

From co-creators Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, the coming-of-age comedy stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi, an Indian American teenager growing up in Sherman Oaks, Calif. who deals with the everyday pressures of high school and drama at home, while also navigating new romantic relationships. The cast also includes Darren Barnet, Jaren Lewison, Lee Rodriguez, Ramona Young, Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani and Megan Suri. It is executive produced by 3 Arts Entertainment’s Howard Klein and David Miner.

The second season will see Devi navigating the aftermath of her kiss with frenemy Ben Gross (Lewinson) while still juggling feelings for longtime crush Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Barnet).

Last week, it was announced that Chrissy Teigen, who had been scheduled to do episodic narration in the second season, exited the show. The change came after TV personality Courtney Stodden revealed in an interview with The Daily Beast that Teigen bullied them when they were 16, sending direct messages like, “I can’t wait for you to die.”

Tennis player John McEnroe still serves as the show’s primary narrator, though last season saw Andy Samberg step in for an episode.

Kaling and the cast will hold a virtual event on June 17 at 8 p.m. PT to debut the new season’s trailer. See below for newly released images from the second season.
