Nevada Election Results: What happens next

The Nevada presidential race remained a dead heat Wednesday with President Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden separated by less than 1% of the nearly 1.2 million votes cast.

Biden hoped to follow in the 2016 success of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who carried the typically left-leaning state. Late mail and provisional ballots from Democratic-leaning areas remain to be tallied. Any ballots post-marked by Election Day will be accepted through Nov. 10.

The number of outstanding ballots was uncertain because the state mailed ballots to all registered voters. No Republican candidate for President has won Nevada since 2004.
