Netflix has released the first trailer for the new Spy Kids movie, Spy Kids: Armageddon, which will arrive on the streaming service on September 22.

Spy Kids: Armageddon is a reboot of the franchise from director Robert Rodriguez, who started off the movie series in 2001 with Spy Kids. This new movie features Gina Rodriguez, Shazam! star Zachary Levi, Billy Magnussen, and DJ Cotrona.

The film follows the two children of super-agents, much like the first movie. The kids in this one will accidentally unleash a computer virus that hands power over all technology to a game developer. To make up for their blunder, the children must learn to become spies and save their parents – and the world.

Rodriguez and Levi are the parents in the movie and the trailer features them in action as super-agents. The trailer then shows them being captured while their children discover that they are spies and take to the road in a spy car while bad guys chase them.

We then see the children suit up in spy gear, walk across a ceiling with special boots and zoom through a city sky.

The trailer then shows the children bonding with a cute little robot, which seems destined to be made into promotional toys for the movie.

It is unknown if PenaVega and Sabara will make an appearance in this reboot, but fans are certainly hoping they will.

Spy Kids isn't the only project getting a reboot. How to Train Your Dragon is getting a live-action reboot, while Byker Grove and Takeshi's Castle are also getting new adaptations.
