NC high school football NCHSAA rankings: Will the top seeds hold serve in Round 3?
Weather played havoc on the schedule in Week 2 of the playoffs, and may have indirectly im[acted some of the games, as well. But as the dust settled — and the puddles dried out — the top teams in the state remained in their positions.
Behind them? Plenty of chaos, with more likely to come in Round 3.
And despite the way the NCHSAA compiles its rankings, the top brackets have, for the most part, allowed the top teams to remain the top teams. In 4A, for instance, six of the eight teams remaining in the West remain alive. In the East, though, only the top 3 official seeds held.
Week 3 of the playoffs — the regional quarterfinal round — promises more of the same as we start seeing sub-regional powers collide.
