Touted as a “high-concept crime procedural,” The Hunting Party is about the titular team of investigators who are assembled and tasked with tracking down and capturing “the most dangerous killers our country has ever seen,” all of whom have just escaped from “a top-secret prison that’s not supposed to exist.”
Bailey, who wrote the Hunting Party pilot, previously created two projects that went to pilot at NBC: Getaway (which was to star Manifest‘s Matt Long and a post-All Rise Marg Helgenberger), and Echo (no, not that one, but a sci-fi series in which crimes are solved by sending the heroes into the past in the body of the victim).
The yet-to-be cast Hunting Party thus joins a 2024-25 NBC drama slate that already includes the second seasons of The Irrational and Found, plus whatever #OneChicago and Law & Order shows (and maybe even Quantum Leap ) get officially renewed in the coming weeks/months.
