Despite the NBA’s unceasing efforts to explain the dangers of COVID-19 and the benefits of vaccines, Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins remains vehemently opposed to taking the vaccine.

Wiggins has reportedly said that he will not get the vaccine until the NBA forces him to. The NBA does not have a vaccine requirement, nor are they expected to make one at this time.

But while that might fly in most cities in the United States, it won’t in San Francisco, California. The city of San Francisco does have requirements for full vaccination to be allowed indoors for entertainment – including large events such as an NBA game at the Chase Center.

The NBA can give Wiggins an exemption for whatever reasons they please. But they can’t override city rules.

As a result, Wiggins could miss multiple Warriors home games until he gets his shots.

Needless to say, the NBA world is roasting Wiggins for his stubbornness:

Andrew Wiggins was invaluable for the Golden State Warriors last year. He started 71 games in his first full season with the team and averaged 33.3 minutes per game.

Wiggins averaged 18.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists. But he wasn’t available for their play-in games against the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies.

The Golden State Warriors have done a lot to try and educate their players about COVID-19 and vaccines. Wiggins can now blame no one but himself when the consequences hit.
