NBA World Reacts To Monday’s Damian Lillard News
Damian Lillard has sent the NBA world into a frenzy on Monday morning.
The Portland All-Star reportedly wants to play with Ben Simmons, per Shams Charania and Sam Amick. Portland discussed a trade with Philadelphia while former GM Neil Olshey was still with the team but the two sides couldn’t come to an agreement.
Portland reportedly had an offer on the table of CJ McCollum, a first-round draft pick and a young player but Philadelphia said no. Philadelphia then countered by asking for McCollum and multiple draft picks and multiple draft swaps, which Portland rejected.
It now looks to be at a crossroads as Olshey was let go this past Friday. Simmons is still not playing for the 76ers after all the drama that surrounded him prior to the season.
The Trail Blazers are also in desperate need of something good to happen. They’re 11-13 so far, which is good for 10th in the West, and have lost five of their last six games.
NBA fans had some mixed reactions after seeing this report.
I simply do not understand how this is a good pairing, Ben is practically useless offensively if the ball isn’t in his hands. Unless Dame wants to become solely a shooter and let Ben play defense, this makes no sense.

This could be something to keep an eye on as the Trail Blazers get deeper and deeper into their season.
Their next game will be Monday night against Los Angeles Clippers at 10 p.m. ET.
