NBA World Reacts To The Major John Wall News
It looks like the John Wall era in Houston will be short-lived.
Wall was traded to Houston from Washington in a blockbuster package for Russell Westbrook. Less than a year later, both star point guards appear to be heading for new teams. Westbrook has already been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers and Wall appears to be on his way out of Houston.
According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Wall and the Rockets have reached an agreement.
“John Wall, Houston Rockets meet and mutually agree to work together on finding a new home for the five-time All-Star guard. Plan is for Wall to be present at training camp, but not play in Rockets games this season,” he reports.

The Rockets are in a clear rebuild and Wall surely isn’t interested in that at this stage of his career. The five-time All-Star point guard isn’t the player he once was, but he’s still a formidable guard.
Multiple contenders could be in need of his services, assuming the money can be worked out.
Clippers remain an interesting destination for John Wall, who, I'm assuming, wants to compete for a championship at this point in his career. That's one of a few destinations where he would be guaranteed a starting role.
Other destinations – Knicks, Heat, Lakers – likely out.

If I'm the Clippers, I make a trade for John Wall. Similar to the Lakers move, you give up contracts like Bledsoe, Kennard, Morris, Zubac or any combination you need to make the contracts work to pair him with PG and Kawhi. https://t.co/ezkoCw7BHs

Potential landing spots for Wall:
Boston Celtics
NY Knicks
LA Clippers
Miami
Orlando Magic https://t.co/pdwQhXvm0M— Olafimihan Oshin (@olafimihanoshin) September 14, 2021
Wall is a couple of years removed from a torn Achilles injury. He averaged 20.6 points, 6.9 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game last season.
The Clippers might make the most sense of any team. They’re in need of a legitimate starting point guard and Wall is friends with Paul George. Once Kawhi Leonard is back from his injury, they could be a real threat to win it all.
