The NBA is back. With it, major drama has returned. Doc Rivers reportedly kicked Ben Simmons out of practice on Tuesday.

The Philadelphia 76ers have suspended Simmons one game for “conduct detrimental to the team,” according to multiple reports. That’s not all, though. It gets worse.

Rivers “threw” Simmons out of practice on Tuesday and the suspension was issued moments later. Simmons reportedly hasn’t been engaged during practices. We saw as much in a video that surfaced on Monday that shows Simmons with a cell phone in his pocket during practice.

We don’t see how this is going to end well. The 76ers are fed up with Simmons’ actions.

There has to be more to this story, right?

Doc Rivers didn’t throw Ben Simmons out of Monday’s practice, despite Simmons’ reluctant attitude and cell phone in his pocket.

Did Simmons actually take his pouty attitude to a new level on Tuesday? It would appear so.

Ben Simmons needs to grow up.

It’s one thing for the rising star to want out of Philly. It’s another to not even try during practices.

This also begs the question: how committed is Simmons to the game of basketball? You’d think he would still want to try and perfect his craft, trade or no trade. Instead, he has one foot in, one foot out the door.

This isn’t going to end well. The Philadelphia 76ers need to make a move here. Trade him, release him; it doesn’t matter.

It’s time for Simmons and the Sixers to move on from each other.
