Over the weekend, the Phoenix Suns took down the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals without star point guard Chris Paul.

Unfortunately for the Suns, he was also ruled out of Game 2. “The Suns have officially listed Chris Paul (health and safety protocols) as out for Tuesday’s Game 2 of the Western Conference finals,” said NBA insider Marc Stein, via Twitter.

Phoenix has performed well so far tonight without Paul on the court. However, his presence on the court is missed, especially after Devin Booker was forced to leave the game after an awkward collision with Patrick Beverley.

However, there is good news on the horizon for Suns fans. According to a report from ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, there is “optimism” from the Suns that Paul will be able to play in Game 3.

That’s huge news for the Suns as they attempt to make it to the NBA Finals. Chris Paul has been one of the best players in the entire postseason, not just on the Suns.

Right now the Suns are locked in a battle with the Clippers, who are also without one of their best players. Kawhi Leonard has missed the past two games with an ACL injury.

Perhaps both Paul and Leonard will be back on the floor for Game 3. At least fans can hope.
