Naugatuck Walmart, Stop & Shop reopens following bomb threat

NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTNH) — The Naugatuck Walmart and Stop & Shop were evacuated Monday due to bomb threats, according to police. They have since reopened.

Bomb squads swept both scenes. No suspicious items were found, according to police.

The Walmart employee was told at 3:45 p.m. a bomb in the bathroom was going to go off in two minutes, according to police. The business reopened at 5 p.m.

The Stop & Shop call came in while police were still at the Walmart. The caller told the employee that a bomb was it the bathroom, and that they had a gun. The business reopened at 5:45 p.m.
