The NWS anticipates that excessive runoff from incoming rain, which will enter the region on Saturday morning, could result in the flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Additionally, flooding could occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

This flood watch follows a week of rain and flood watches in North Jersey. Saturated conditions from the week's rainfall events could contribute to the weekend's potential flooding.

On Wednesday night, portions of North Jersey were on flood watch due to excessive amounts of rain that fell throughout the day.

The National Weather Service asks that anybody in the affected areas continue to monitor local forecasts and be on alert for potential flood warnings. If you live in an area that is prone to flooding, you should be prepared to take action in case flooding develops.
