Natalie Portman And Tessa Thompson's Arms Are *So* Sculpted In 'Thor' Premiere Pics

  • Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman were not messing around when they took on their roles in Thor: Love and Thunder.

  • The two trained hard for a long time to get ready for their Marvel movie, and these pics showing off their sculpted arms at a 'Thor' screening in London are here to prove it!

  • Natalie and Tessa both did lots of strength-training with their trainers and altered their diets.

At the red carpet premiere of Thor: Love and Thunder, Natalie Portman (who plays the titular Thor) and Tessa Thompson (who plays warrior Valkyrie) both looked like total badass superheroes as they posed together for photos.

Natalie wore a short red mini dress with a matching floral headpiece and heels that highlighted her super strong arms and legs, while Tessa opted for a fierce floor-length gold gown with thigh-high leather boots, which showed off her toned arms.

The theme was clear: Strong Girl Summer.

Both ladies put in intense work in the gym to get ready for their roles. For Natalie, she worked with trainer Naomi Pendergast for months at Australia’s RPX Fitness to get herself into 'Thor' shape.

Pendergast shared with Variety that the two would workout for one to 1.5 hours each day, super early in the morning (like, 4:30 a.m.). "We started five months before filming and continued to train throughout the filming process to maintain her muscle." And they did this for 10 months (!).

She also shared some of the exercises they did to get Natalie's arms so ripped. "We worked on building her upper body three times a week, which included arm, back, chest exercises, boxing, skipping and running. The other two days were dedicated to injury prevention work, which included Pilates-based exercises, stretching, release work and balance exercises."

And her diet was super healthy while she got strong for the role.

"Natalie is an extremely healthy person with a very wholesome and clean diet, so we did not have to make any major changes to her food," Pendergast shared. "Natalie is a vegan, so for her to get enough protein to bulk up the way she needed we had to increase her daily amount by adding vegan-based protein powders a couple of times a day."

As for Tessa, she shared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she spent three hours a day in the gym. Phew!

"It was extensive," she shared, and she noted that it was extra tough to transition from "cooking and eating a lot" at the start of the pandemic, to training mode. "I had to be pretty strict and work really hard, really quickly to get into shape."

Tessa shared that she worked with trainer Reginald (Reggie) Brantley, who had her do "a lot of cardio, a lot of weightlifting," and eating specific foods.

Both of their hard work clearly paid off!
