Filip Forsberg, Luke Evangelista lead Predators to 8 goals, fourth win in a row
Two days after scoring the tying and go-ahead goals 16 seconds apart during the third period of a win against the Calgary Flames, the Nashville Predators scored goals 28 seconds apart in the first period Sunday against the St. Louis Blues.
By the end of the third period the Predators had secured their fourth consecutive victory, 8-3.
The Predators (9-10-0) attacked swiftly again in the second period, scoring three times during the first six minutes, including Spencer Stastney’s first career goal Filip Forsberg and Luke Evangelista each scored two goals for the Predators, who had a season high in that department and had seven-plus goals through two periods for just the third time in franchise history. They also accomplished the feat on Jan. 5, 2007, and March 18, 2006.
Forsberg, Evangelista and Kiefer Sherwood each had three points for the Predators, who had only four held off the scoresheet.
Filip Forsberg stays hot
Forsberg’s 10th goal of the season and fourth in three games put the Predators ahead 1-0 with 13 minutes, 3 seconds left in the first period.
Yakov Trenin’s goal stood up after a review with 12:35 left in the first and made it 2-0.
Evangelista’s second goal of the season and first of two in the game pushed the Predators advantage to 3-0 with 6:07 left in the first.

Forsberg’s 11th goal of the season and fifth in three games gave the Predators a 7-2 lead late in the second.
Sherwood sure good

Predators backup goalie Kevin Lankinen made his second start in a week and third of the season. He made 36 saves in his third straight win.
The Blues fell to 10-8-1.
Nashville was coming off a 4-2 victory against the Calgary Flames at Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, which was David Poile Night. The team raised a banner with the former general manager's initials on it into the rafters.
