What Nashville Predators said about new Minnesota Wild coach John Hynes before Thursday's game

New Minnesota Wild coach John Hynes is back in town Thursday to face his old team, the Nashville Predators, on his fourth day on the job.

Hynes coached 19 players on the Predators roster, including 17 who likely will suit up for the meeting at Bridgestone Arena, a place Hynes called home for 3 and a half seasons.

Hynes was fired on May 30 by Predators general manager Barry Trotz, who replaced him with Andrew Brunette.

Here's what some of Hynes' former players had to say about their former boss and his new job:

On Hynes getting another job

"I was definitely happy for him. I was thinking it was just a matter of time until he gets a new job. It's funny how it works out. He comes right back here in his second game. It'll be exciting for him to be back."

Predators goalie Juuse Saros

On his reaction to Hynes' hiring, impact he had on his career

"It always feels weird to see ... guys that were here (last year). It's part of this business. It takes a while to get used to seeing familiar faces in different places.

"He played a big role in my career, giving me that chance to be a starter. I'm really grateful for that."

Predators center Colton Sissons

On his relationship with Hynes

"We had a good relationship. There was some underperforming that went on. It was some stressful times for players and coaches. You never want to see someone with out of a job. He's passionate. He loves what he does. That's clearly evident. Good to see him back."

Predators forward Kiefer Sherwood

On whether or not he planned to see him Thursday

Probably not. It's more business. We've turned the page, and I know he's hungry. It's going to be a good test for us to come out flying and establish our identity quickly.
