Schools in Caldwell and Nampa were canceled Wednesday after the Vallivue School District received an anonymous “fake” bomb threat, according to Nampa police.

The Vallivue School District evacuated all 13 of its elementary, middle and high schools and sent students home, according to a Facebook post from the Nampa Police Department on behalf of the school district. Nampa police cleared all of the schools just after 10 a.m. and determined that the threat wasn’t legitimate, an updated post said.

Police said the fake threat was sent to other schools beyond the Vallivue School District.

Nampa police on Facebook said they don’t plan on evacuating schools from neighboring school districts in Nampa.

All middle and high school students were sent home Wednesday morning, the district said. Parents of elementary school children were allowed to pick up their kids.

“If you cannot pick up your child, we will continue to keep students safe and away from buildings,” the district said.
